Stable Relationships

Stable Relationships

Truffle had experienced a physical trauma that left her uncomfortable, out of sorts and she even went from being a fun and cooperative kids’ pony to an unpredictable, potentially dangerous pony. After the first session with Marcia there was a notable difference in her comfort level, trust, and overall demeanor. After just 2 sessions of Marcia’s skillful work, Truffle was back to being able to be her fun self. Thank you, Marcia.

Equine Massage

Does your horse display any uncomfortable movements? If so, equine massage may help.

What is Equine Sports Massage?

Equine sports massage is the therapeutic application of hands on massage techniques for the purpose of increasing the horse’s circulation, relaxing and relieving muscle spasms and tension, and increasing range of motion in all horses. It does not replace veterinarian consultation. Equine massage works as a complement to veterinarian health care. The application of equine massage is completed by a certified Equissage™ graduate.

How will it help my horse?

The true difference between horse and rider is the human’s ability to ask for help when there is pain, tension, muscular tightness and/or limited range of motion. A horse that resists movements, refuses commands, displays poor temperment, goes off in certain movements, develops a cold back, tosses its head and bucks may be warning signs of a horse in pain.

What are the fees for this service?

For farms located within 30 miles of Charlottesville, the fee is $100 per horse per visit. Therapy is approximately 45 minutes. Please brush, halter, and stable your horse before a visit.
